Luke 7:3-50 [NIV] 36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. 39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.” 40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, teacher,” he said. 41 “Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii,[c] and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?” 43 Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.” “You have judged correctly,” Jesus said. 44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. Ephesians 6:10-19 [NIV] 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Ephesians 6:1-9 [NIV] Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”[a] 4 Fathers,[b] do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. In this service, CJ is going to share Daniel Chapter 1 about an uncompromising life shown by Daniel when he was imprisoned to be brainwashed in the Chaldean culture.
 
Daniel 1:3-21 [NIV] 3 Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring into the king’s service some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility— 4 young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. 5 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king’s table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king’s service. 6 Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. 8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 9 Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel, 10 but the official told Daniel, “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your[c] food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.” 11 Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. 16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead. 17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. 18 At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. 20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom. 21 And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.

Acts 3:1-10 [NIV] One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. 2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Summary – sometimes God brings us into a new experience in God, but it does not always go smoothly – God has a plan for us to achieve – What God has for us can be a battle – they have just had a celebration between the mountains, Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim. Joshua 5:1-8 [NIV] Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they[a] had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites. Circumcision and Passover at Gilgal 2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.” 3 So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the Israelites at Gibeath Haaraloth.[b] 4 Now this is why he did so: All those who came out of Egypt—all the men of military age—died in the wilderness on the way after leaving Egypt. 5 All the people that came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness during the journey from Egypt had not. 6 The Israelites had moved about in the wilderness forty years until all the men who were of military age when they left Egypt had died, since they had not obeyed the Lord. For the Lord had sworn to them that they would not see the land he had solemnly promised their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey. 7 So he raised up their sons in their place, and these were the ones Joshua circumcised. They were still uncircumcised because they had not been circumcised on the way. 8 And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they remained where they were in camp until they were healed.

The stories are from Mark 2:1-12 (Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man) and Luke 8:43-48 (Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman). The resurrection of Jesus is a significant factor and the heart of the Christian message. Without the resurrection, Jesus’ ministry ends in defeat and disillusionment. But everything changes with the realisation that Jesus has risen from the dead, just as He said.

There has been a lot of confusion and false information about the references on the “Mark of the Beast,” which leads to fear and uncertainty during this unprecedented time. And so, Simon shares a message through the Book of Revelation Chapter 13 to give scriptural facts to help us understand the written prophecy.
 
John 10:27-30 [NIV] 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
 
This week David is sharing the message based on the Book of Jeremiah, talking about the failures of Israel and how we can learn from them.

14 Then Haggai said, “‘So it is with this people and this nation in my sight,’ declares the Lord. ‘Whatever they do and whatever they offer there is defiled.
15 “‘Now give careful thought to this from this day on—consider how things were before one stone was laid on another in the Lord’s temple. 16 When anyone came to a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten. When anyone went to a wine vat to draw fifty measures, there were only twenty. 17 I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me,’ declares the Lord. 18 ‘From this day on, from this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid. Give careful thought: 19 Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit.
“‘From this day on I will bless you.’”
 
David is sharing a message about the Gospel of John 15:16, explaining that God chooses us, appoints us, and sends us. God never changes, but He changes those He chooses. Today, if you are looking for meaning and purpose in this life, it can only be found in union with Christ.

John 15:16 [ESV] 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
 
This week Mark shares a message about LOVE and SALVATION. We all know that God is omniscient, which means He knows all, and God is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere all at once. Yet, there are things that God does not tolerate, engage in or identify with.
Points to remember:
1. God doesn’t know anyone that He does not LOVE
2. God doesn’t know anyone that does not need SALVATION
3. God doesn’t know a better time for you to be saved than right now!

Today we have the opportunity to hear from Rev. Dr. William Osagiede of Sureway International Christian Ministries Australia. In today’s generation, people are trying to live and be relevant in this world, and have forgotten to live with the fire of the Holy Spirit. As Pastor William preaches about receiving the power of the Holy Spirit, may we decide to come back to God and make Him the priority in our lives.

Good morning church, and welcome to our virtual service today! David’s message today speaks about the importance of accepting Jesus Christ in our life, affirming the Book of Revelation chapter 14 because our soul in eternity depends upon it. Revelation 14:14-20 (ESV) 14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.” 16 So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped. 17 Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, the angel who has authority over the fire, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Put in your sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe.” 19 So the angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress, as high as a horse’s bridle, for 1,600 stadia.
 
Simon delivers part 2 of “Jesus is King, we are His subjects” and today the message focuses on the Name of Jesus, its power and authority above all. Philippians 2:8-11 (NIV) 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
 
In this message Simon shares the what it means to be a part of the Kingdom of God and how Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit can help us stay in focus. Colossians 1:13-14 (NIV) 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
 
Today Mark delivers a message about ‘Living on Purpose’ which makes us think about our on level of faith and belief to get a hold of the promises of God in our lives?
Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG) It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.
 
Remember these three primary aspects to God’s purpose for your life:

Genesis 12:1-3 (NIV) 12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
 
David shares a message from the Gospel of James titled ‘Tomorrow belongs to God alone!’ stating two major points:
1. God holds THE FUTURE in the palm of His hands
2. God holds OUR LIFE in the palm of His hands
James 4:13-17 (ESV) ’13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. 17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
 
‘In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth’, Simon’s message is in the book of Genesis, exploring God’s conversations with Adam and Eve.
Genesis 2:15-17 (NIV) 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
 
Mark delivers today’s message, taking up the next reading in the Easter story after Jesus’ resurrection. We will be looking at John’s Gospel and the first of the times Jesus is seen by the disciples.
John 20:30-31 (NIV) 30 “Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
 
Simon continues his Easter message, now talking about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ through the events after the crucifixion according to the Gospel of John and Luke.
Luke 24:45-49 (NIV) 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” 
 
This Good Friday message is given by Simon and he talks about the words that Jesus spoke while He was on the cross. Likewise, this message also shows the importance of Good Friday.
1 Peter 2:24 (NIV) 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
 
This Sunday’s message is delivered by Simon as he continues to talk about A SERIES ON: FAITH, using the kingdom of Babylon the Assyrian Empire in the Book of Daniel.
Daniel 2:44-45 (NIV) 44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. “The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”
 
The message for this Sunday is shared by David Micallef using the Gospel of Luke 16:19-31. The moral of the message demonstrates how our worldly living would affect our afterlife, heading towards Heaven or Hell.
Luke 16:22-23 (ESV)22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side.[f] The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.’
 
Last week Simon shared an introductory message about the Kingdom of God, and this Sunday he continues the message in detail with these main points.
Matthew 6:33 (NIV) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’
 
What Kingdom is like:
1. There is no Kingdom without a King
2. The King’s Responsibility is to rule
3. Citizens come under the rulership of the King
4. Laws and Ethics to live by
5. There needs to be a territory

Mark Andrews, shares a message about Faith which has been the main reference point this 2021. The message is titled, “Faith In Community”.
James 3:17-18 (MSG) “Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honour.”

 
In this Staff Commissioning Sunday, we are celebrating and blessing the teaching staff of Melton Christian College as we start a new school year.
We also have Simon continuing his message about faith, titled “Live A Life Of Faith”.
Romans 12:1-2 (MSG) Place Your Life Before God
“1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” 
 
Our Church Elder, Mark Andrews, shares a sermon about Faith which has been the subject matter this month of January. The sermon is titled, “How to Live Out Faith” from the book of Hebrews Chapter 11.
Hebrews 11:1-3 (NIV)1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”
 
This message is brought to you by David Micallef, titled ‘Hardened Hearts’ from the book of Hebrews 3:1-19 (ESV). “12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”
 
Simon continues his messages in the series on Faith. Today his title is ‘Measure of Faith’. Everyone has a measure of faith. How much faith do you have? Do you have enough faith to believe that Jesus Christ is the person that can restore you to a relationship with God and provide your eternal salvation?
 
Greetings Church! This message is the first in a series on Faith, to be delivered by Simon. Romans 12 tells us that God gives everyone a measure of faith and we see a definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” The focus of today’s message is about Faith In Action.
